How often should you get a haircut?

High-top fade with crisp edges

It depends on the cut. A rough guide for keeping fades crisp, longer styles in shape and beards under control.

Hair grows roughly a centimetre a month, but you notice that growth much sooner on a short fade than on a longer cut.

A rough guide

  • Skin and high fades: every two to three weeks to keep the blend sharp.
  • Low fades and tapers: every three to four weeks.
  • Classic scissor cuts: every four to six weeks.
  • Longer styles and mullets: every six to eight weeks to keep the shape.

If you're growing your hair out, keep coming in. A tidy-up around the ears and neck stops the awkward stage from looking messy.
